Dear Cusimano’s Pizza’s owner,
Hi, my name is Frank Boensch, a member of your local community, and a pizza lover. Did you know that an estimated 3 billion cardboard pizza boxes are used and discarded every single year? Many times, these pizza boxes get tarnished with grease. We are then forced to throw the boxes in the trash where they are taken straight to a landfill. I suggest using a plastic reusable pizza box that would be environmentally friendly and a good business move
Offering these plastic pizza boxes with a discounted price will improve your business economically. At this website, http://www.dmsinnovation.com/, you can find pizza boxes that are reusable and come in all different sizes. These pizza boxes start at $9.95 and are not only more environmentally friendly, but tests have shown they keep the pizza warmer and fresher. If you sell the box for $15 (maybe offer a pizza and box deal for $25) and offer a discount each time someone orders a pizza with the box, (depending on size of the pizza) people will want to get their money’s worth and they will keep coming back and buying more pizza! This will turn ordinary customers into regulars. You have probably noticed that sometimes being cheap and having a good product isn’t good enough. According to a recent survey, 82% of consumers will buy a product that is green for the earth, even if it costs a little more. When they see your company is looking out for the environment, the next time they look for a pizza place, your business will be on their mind. Also, cardboard boxes aren’t free for takeout or delivery. Using this will minimize the number of cardboard boxes you have to buy. Using these plastic boxes will make your overall business cleaner. For a delivery, if a family has a box, they will mention it in the order. When you bring the pizza in the plastic box, they will give you their old plastic container. From there you just have to wash the container and reuse it again. Less trees will have to be cut down to produce all of these cardboard boxes.
Thinking environmentally, this idea will help the world in many ways. When cardboard sits in a landfill, it creates methane gas, which is 21 more times more dangerous to the ozone than carbon dioxide. This will make a much more dangerous environment for us and all future generations. Think about it, this one small change will make a big affect on the earth. Also, landfills are shutting down because of the excess amount trash being brought into them. If we reduce the number of cardboard boxes, these landfills can stay open longer because remember, all these boxes go somewhere and they just take up space.
I hope you see the upsides to starting the program that I suggested. Thanks for considering this eco-friendly proposal. If you have any questions on anything, email me at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Frank Boensch
