Beast Inside
Frank Boensch
My inspiration to make this art piece was to display an important symbol in the book Lord of the Flies. I chose to put the speared pigs head on my cover because it represents the symbol in Lord of the Flies. The Lord of the Flies in the story represented the fear inside all of the kids on the island and the pig was a temporary host of the Lord of the Flies. Another symbol represented in my picture is the fire on the top of the mountain. The fire represented the hope of the kids on the island to get rescued. Without the fire, the kids would never have any hope in being rescued off the island. I decided to use pastels to make my cover because for the sky, it makes a smoother and blended look. I also feel like it brings out the stronger color of the pig, which is supposed to be the focus of the picture.
